Sustainable Peace for Sustainable Development in Africa

Hi Friends,

People believed that foreign aids are doing more bad than good in developing countries, there are claims that Leaders of developing countries are been dictated on how to manage their funds. Do we believe that foreign Aids are important and needed by developing countries?

Good post Gideon.

Well I was reading a very good book about democracy and the point the writer was making was that political decision making is about power and business. The reality is that poverty alleviation, human rights etc does not have a high priority. Therefore, Aid is never a free handout - there must be an agenda behind it.

Hi Gideon,

Well, when the foreign "aids" (yes...: what a word) keep the people(s) firmly down... and give
them "foreign debts"... so heavy, i guess this attitude of "aids" is absolutely discouraging.

It must be lack of understanding, a total lack of understanding, about what it is like
to be "dictated" and "ruled" and "overruled".

I do believe that "foreign aids" in the so to speak 'right spirit' are however helpful, but so,
how to say this..., a so to speak 'right spirit'... or no: TRUE spirit..., a spirit based in TRUTH,
will NEVER make another person dependent (!!!!) when giving (!!!) the means to live
so the people can USE the means and blossom!

Well... perhaps you also want to check out my "discussion" i had uploaded just
today here at APDI:

(O, when copy-paste the above url, please make it one uninterrupted line...,
but else it would have been too long in the comment box and
unreadable therefore unclickable...)

Well, all this from me so far..., though non-final and unfinished...

Have a good day,
:-)

True Evil?

Sorry, to be so but only explicit... and use this "most dark inspired word": evil.

But how else can one see one's FELLOW HUMANS suffer and dare to tie them down with "help" / "aids" to lateron say: "You see... the help is best not given."??

It is without LOVE and it is without TRUTH; it is but full of IGNORANCE.

TRUTH LOVE JUSTICE

I would agree that harm has been done in the past, but that if administered properly and done with the right conditions it can be an effective tool. When a country provides aid to a developing country with their own best interest at the forefront, the aid is surely not going to be effective. In my opinion, there needs to be a collaboration of efforts with regards to what is done with the foreign aid money, and it needs to be dealt with in the ebst interest of the people living in the developing coutry, not in the best interest of any individual people who happen to be in power at the time.
In the past, it is true, there has been an agenda behind the foreign aid. I do not believe that it needs to be that way though.

Thank you Danielle,

I totally agreed with you that aids to developing country is a tool to development, if people will not use their selfish interest to administer the funds. But many believed that it is due to foreign aids and the relationship that Africa leaders have with the western world that they will try to change the constitution and remain in power for life. What do you thing about this?

Once more than you for being part of this network; your contribution to this project in any way will not be undermine. Don’t hesitate to contribute to the project morally, financially, material etc at any time.
